A history of Stable Cottage

Stable Cottage dates from around 1830 and was built by the owner of the main house and probably used as a stable. In or around 1867 the whole estate was bought by Mr Benjamen Bloys who set up the ‘Bloys soda water and lemonade Manufacturers’. Stable cottage was used as the stables and cart lodge and the bottling plant was set up in the now kitchen. It seems to have continued trading in the Bloys name until the breakout of the Second World War.

Stable Cottage was renovated and turned into the now cottage in around 2002 and updated in 2017.
