Terms and conditions

Contract

The Contract for a short-term holiday rental shall be made between the Client and Mrs J Compson. The contract shall be governed by UK Law. It will be entered into when the deposit is processed and Mrs Compson issues the confirmation letter.  By making a reservation you are deemed to have accepted our terms and conditions. The Contract will be subject to the following booking conditions.

Booking

The Client making the booking agrees that they are authorised to make this booking on behalf of all persons who shall be renting the property and agrees to take full responsibility for the property and the payment of any rental fees or damages. All persons must be over 18 years, with the exception of infants.

Booking Deposit

A deposit of 20% of the rental fee is payable if the booking is made more than 5 weeks before the commencement of the rental.  The balance must be paid in full four weeks before the commencement of the rental. Non-payment of the balance of the rental, on or before the due date shall be construed as a cancellation of the contract by the Client and any deposit payments made  will not be refunded. For bookings made less than four weeks before the commencement of the rental, the total rental fee is payable at the time of booking.

Payment

Our prices are inclusive and quoted in Pounds GB.  Payments can be made by online bank transfer, cheque, credit card or debit card via Pay pal. All cheques must be made payable to J Compson FLP and can only be accepted if received not less than two weeks before the commencement of the rental.

Cancellations

Any cancellation made by the Client for whatever reason must be in writing. Once the booking has been confirmed the deposit becomes non-refundable. For cancellations made less than 4 weeks prior to the arrival date 100% of the total rental fee will be payable.  We strongly recommend that the Client takes out insurance against cancellation.

Period of Hire

Hiring will be for a minimum of 2 nights.

Arrival will be from 2.30pm until 10 am on the day of departure

The number of persons occupying the property must not exceed the maximum number of four adults.

Services

Rental charges include bed linen and towels for use during your stay. Beds will be made up prior to your arrival and for bookings of more than one week linen and towels will be changed at the end of each week. Electricity, gas and water are included within the rental charge. There is free Wi Fi connection. if it fails we will do everything possible to get it reconnected but we do not guarantee availability.

We have a no pets policy

Care of the Property

The Client shall take all reasonable and proper care of the property and its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the property and leave them in the same state of repair and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as was found at the beginning.

Breakages, Damage or Missing Items

The Client is legally bound to Mrs J. Compson for breakages, damage, missing items or excessive cleaning caused by the party during the period of the rental.

Late Arrivals

We ask that you inform us of your planned arrival time. Please advise us if your arrival time changes substantially. If you are liable to arrive after 9.00pm please make arrangements in advance for access to the cottage.

Parking

There is off road parking for one and possibly two cars if parked carefully.

Lost Property

A minimum charge of £10 is made for the return of lost property after your departure. Items of lost property can only be held for a maximum of one month after which time they will be donated to charity. We cannot be held responsible for items reported lost which cannot be found. Property is at all times the responsibility of the owner

Privacy

Protecting your privacy is important to us and we will strive to keep your personal information confidential. Your details will be kept on our database to enable us to keep you up to date with any future offers, information or mailings. We do not give any information to third parties or use information gathered in any other way than those described above. If required by law or legal process to disclose your personal information we will do only in accordance with the law.
